01 - WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT

Eight ways AXO works on a storefront.

Outcome-shaped, not feature-shaped. Pick the two that matter most to your store today; the rest stay available for when you grow into them.

U-01

Post-click + inbound personalization

Every visitor lands on a page tuned to how they arrived and what they're doing in the first few seconds.

U-02

Behavioral audience discovery

Anonymous clickstream surfaces real shopper cohorts without a CDP team or an audience-builder UI.

U-03

Catalog-aware recommendations

Every recommendation slate comes from your live catalog, in stock and on brand, tuned per segment.

U-04

Journey + message orchestration

Cart-abandonment, browse-abandonment, win-back, lifecycle messages — fire through the ESP / SMS / ad-platform you already use.

U-05

Ad-platform retargeting + CAPI measurement

Server-side conversion events for iOS-14-safe attribution. Build retargeting lists from behavior. Suppress converters from spend.

U-06

Holdout-proven incremental lift

A 10% control group runs against every change, always on. Causal attribution, not correlation.

U-07

Agentic creative + ops

Drive AXO from natural language — in-app via the AXO Assistant or externally via Claude / Cursor / ChatGPT / VS Code through MCP.

U-08

First-party data activation

Profile + event data flows to the CDP, warehouse and CRM you already run — Segment, Snowflake, BigQuery, Salesforce, HubSpot. AXO feeds your stack, doesn't replace it.

02 - THE LOOP ON YOUR STOREFRONT

Score, swap, prove. On every pageview.

No audiences to build, no rules to maintain, no A/B you have to babysit. Three things happen on the page, in order, in milliseconds.

01

Score every visitor

The tag reads what each shopper actually does - dwell, scroll, hover, cadence - and sorts them into a cohort. No login required, no audience to hand-build.

Anonymous + returning, scored alike
02

Swap the zones

Behavior maps to the headline, recommendations, urgency and cart treatment that fit - rendered deterministically, in milliseconds, with no flicker.

Per-zone, pre-hidden, CDN-safe
03

Prove it, then fire

An always-on 10% holdout measures the real incremental lift, and cart triggers fan out to the Klaviyo or Braze account you already run.

WHAT STEP 03 LOOKS LIKE

The holdout is not a report. It is 10% of your traffic.

ILLUSTRATION

A random tenth of your shoppers keep the standard storefront, permanently and by visitor, from the first impression onward. The gap between them and everyone else is the only number here that means anything – and it is the number AXO reports.

MEASURED LIFT
A real difference, and this is what it is worth.

The personalized arm is ahead of the live control by more than the interval on the difference, so this one is safe to call. Note what is not being claimed: not that add-to-cart is up against last quarter, and not that AXO caused every conversion it touched – only the gap against a control group that ran the whole time.

+1.1pp

Illustration – a worked example of the reading, not a customer's account. AXO does not publish customer results without their name on them, and there is no anonymous case study on this page for the same reason. The mechanic is real: a 10% holdout on by default, bucketed per visitor, reported as the difference against the control.

03 - WHY IT MATTERS, FOR YOU

Reads the same whether you own the number or run the store.

FOR THE CMO

Revenue you can defend in the QBR.

Incremental, not asserted - an always-on holdout attributes the revenue each change actually caused.
One tag, not four contracts - CDP, activation, experimentation and an AI bolt-on collapse into a single layer.
Signal this quarter - live in about 15 minutes - no CDP onboarding, no engineering sprint.
No consent drama - runs anonymous by default, so personalization isn’t gated on identity.
FOR THE OPERATOR

Ships on the stack you already run.

Won’t break the storefront - flicker-safe per-zone rendering preserves LCP and doesn’t fight your CDN.
No SQL, no audience builder - cohorts emerge from behavior and adapt with your traffic on their own.
Catalog comes in automatically - the recommender stays in stock and on brand without a feed project.
Wires into what you have - cart and browse triggers fire into Klaviyo, Braze, Resend or Salesforce.
04 - WHY YOU CAN TRUST WHAT SHIPS

No hallucinating model in the decision chain.

DETERMINISTIC

Reproducible by design

Rules and classical ML decide what ships - same inputs, same experience. No generative text on the live path.

HUMAN-APPROVED

Skip the eval tax

Copy is drafted offline for a person to approve before it ever goes live. No brand-safety roulette at 2 a.m.

HOLDOUT-PROVEN

Caused, not correlated

A 10% control group measures real incremental revenue on every change, from day one.

WHAT A COMMERCE TEAM ACTUALLY ASKS

The questions before the pilot, answered plainly.

Including the ones a storefront owner asks second, after the demo: what this does to the page, and what happens when the measurement disagrees with the pitch.

PAGE SPEED

What does this do to storefront performance?

One script tag, loaded deferred so it runs after your analytics and never blocks rendering. Cohorting and the decision happen client-side in under 200ms, and swaps are applied per zone rather than by re-rendering the page, so largest contentful paint is not waiting on AXO. If the tag is blocked or fails, the shopper gets your standard storefront.

FLICKER

Will shoppers see the original hero flash before it swaps?

No. Personalized zones are pre-hidden and revealed once the decision is applied, per zone rather than by masking the whole page, so the rest of the storefront paints normally while a single hero resolves. This is also why AXO does not fight a CDN: nothing has to be rendered server-side or cached per cohort.

NOT ENOUGH TRAFFIC

Our long tail of product pages barely gets traffic. What happens there?

They still get personalized – the decision is behavioral and needs no per-page history. What they do not get is a fast verdict: the optimizer reports insufficient evidence for any comparison that has not separated from the holdout, however long that takes, instead of promoting noise on a thin page to a result.

YOUR DATA

What data leaves the storefront?

Behavioral signals from the session – pages, scroll, dwell, referrer, cadence – plus your product catalog and whatever identifiers you choose to send. No PII is required: AXO runs anonymous by default, which is why personalization is not gated on a shopper being logged in or having accepted a marketing cookie.

NEGATIVE RESULT

What happens if the holdout says it did not work?

You get told, and the optimizer stops sending traffic to the losing variant rather than quietly reallocating and calling the total a win. The holdout cannot be switched off for an individual experiment, because a control group you can disable when the news is bad is not a control group.

BRAND SAFETY

Is a language model writing copy onto our live storefront?

No. Copy is drafted offline for a person to approve, and the live decision path is rules and classical ML only – same inputs, same experience, reproducible. Nothing generative runs between a shopper loading the page and seeing it.

Personalization that proves itself.

Same agentic layer underneath, tuned to your storefront. One tag, live in about 15 minutes - proven by an always-on holdout from day one.
